SWITZERLAND, LUGANO
600 DRONES
15 MINS

On October 25, 2025, Cyberdrone returned to Lugano for our fourth consecutive performance at Plan ₿ Forum, Europe’s key Bitcoin and blockchain conference. This year, the Dubai-based team took a bold creative turn: a 600-drone Meme Show that visualized the evolution of crypto through internet humor, philosophy, and light. Hovering over Parco Ciani waterfront, the performance turned the sky into a living news feed that went viral.

Plan ₿ Forum

Meme revolution with a 600-drone show at Plan ₿ Forum 2025

Plan ₿ Forum unites the world’s crypto visionaries, policymakers, and innovators. In 2025, the event drew participants from over 50 countries, underlining Lugano’s growing reputation as Europe’s most progressive “crypto city.” Since the launch of the Plan ₿ Initiative with Tether, more than 500 local businesses have adopted Bitcoin and Tether payments, making the city a real-world laboratory of financial freedom.

The performance unfolded above Parco Ciani, Lugano’s lakeside park known for its clear sightlines and natural amphitheater effect. The public joined forum guests along the promenade, turning the city’s waterfront into a collective viewing platform where blockchain met art.

The 13-minute aerial sequence became a live chronicle of internet culture, a visual journey through humor, irony, and digital rebellion. Each formation represented a chapter in the evolution of crypto, translated into symbols the global audience already knew by heart.

Super Pepe

Emerging first, the iconic frog appeared reimagined as Superman of Bitcoin: caped, confident, yet knowingly ironic. Once a symbol of absurd internet humor, Pepe here embodied the self-awareness of crypto culture, its mix of playfulness and defiance. He flew across the sky as a metaphor for liberation from financial gravity, hinting that power no longer belongs only to institutions, but to those who dare to believe in code and community.

Money Printer Go BRRR

The infamous meme of a grinning bureaucrat furiously printing cash took shape in bright drones, accompanied by a buzzing “BRRR” spelled in green light. It was both satire and protest: a vivid reminder of the inflationary cycles that fueled crypto’s philosophy. Against this backdrop, Bitcoin’s finite supply became not just a technical feature but a moral stance: order against chaos, precision against excess.

They Don’t Know

A more introspective sequence. A figure wearing the Bitcoin logo stood apart from a crowd, under the phrase “They don’t know.” It visualized the early years of crypto, when believers were few, often ridiculed, yet united by the thrill of discovery. The drones portrayed not separation, but anticipation: a quiet faith that one day, the others will know.

Pointing Wojak

The moment of revelation. The expression of astonished recognition as a hand points toward the Bitcoin sign captured that collective realization spreading through society: decentralization is not a fad but a shift. It was the “look, it’s happening” moment, pure internet energy condensed into light.

IQ Bell Curve Meme

The philosophical midpoint of the show. The bell-shaped formation glowed in soft gradients as three faces appeared along it: the fool, the intellectual, and the enlightened. Together they told a universal story: how crypto understanding cycles between blind enthusiasm, overcomplicated analysis, and finally, simple wisdom*.*

Bitcoin Rollercoaster Guy

Here the mood flipped to kinetic joy. The orange-headed Bitcoin mascot on a rollercoaster car surged upward, then plunged and rose again, mirroring the market’s emotional rhythm. It was acceptance. A celebration of volatility as part of the adventure, where every fall is followed by a climb.

Wojak McDonald’s Worker

Humor with a sting of truth. The figure in a McDonald’s cap, marked with “SATOSHI” on his arm—a nod to Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin’s mysterious creator—represented the self-irony of traders after a market crash. It reminded the audience that every downturn brings humility, and that resilience, not wealth, defines the true believers.

Bitcoin eats fiat currencies

It’s one of the boldest visual metaphors: a Pac-Man-shaped Bitcoin symbol devouring dollar, pound, yen, and ruble signs. It was playful, but pointed: a comment on the gradual erosion of traditional money’s dominance. The audience could almost feel the inevitability of the digital shift, expressed not through words but motion.

The Matrix (Red Pill/Blue Pill)

The philosophical peak. Two vast hands appeared in the darkness, each offering a glowing capsule. The orange one held the Bitcoin symbol; the blue represented the old financial world. It recreated the Matrix’s moral dilemma—truth versus comfort—and invited the audience to “take the orange pill,” a reference well-known in crypto circles as the choice of awakening.

Nyan Cat + Bitcoin = To the Moon!

The finale burst into pure nostalgia. The pixelated cat with a rainbow trail flew across the night sky, pushing a glowing Bitcoin toward the stars. It united two eras of internet culture, the carefree meme age and the crypto frontier, in one jubilant moment. A reminder that technology and creativity share the same DNA, and that even revolutions can end with a smile.

We created a glowing aerial meme collage that blended humor with ideology, showing how culture shapes technology, and vice versa.

Virality and Cultural Impact

It didn’t take long for the show to leave the waterfront. Within hours, the Meme Show was circulating across social media feeds, crypto forums, and tech news outlets—proof that the combination of internet culture and aerial technology can spread faster than any marketing campaign.

The virality came not from hype, but from relatability. Everyone in the audience recognized at least one meme, one joke, one feeling, and that recognition bridged the gap between technology and emotion.

Drone precision gave memes physical form; meme familiarity gave drones a human touch.

What comes next?

This performance built upon Cyberdrone’s previous Lugano shows, from 400 drones in 2022 to 600 this year, marking the fourth consecutive edition of our journey with Plan ₿ Forum. Each year, the story has evolved: from abstract representations of blockchain and digital freedom, to cinematic narratives, and now to an ironic, self-aware reflection of crypto culture through memes.

Watching this progression feels like following a living storyline written in light, one that grows bolder and more playful with every chapter.

After four years, Lugano has become more than just a location for us; it’s a recurring stage where technology and imagination meet. And with each closing scene, one question remains in the air: what comes next?
