At the center of Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing live-events scene, SLS Expo 2025 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Convention Centre united the region’s leading minds in AV, lighting, and entertainment technology. Cyberdrone took part on two levels: on the ground with an interactive stand, and in the air with a drone-light show that embodied the event’s theme. Together, both experiences showcased how creativity and technology can turn innovation into emotion and storytelling into light.
Where vision meets experience
The Saudi Light & Sound (SLS) Expo is the kingdom’s leading platform for event-tech innovation, a meeting point for AV experts, lighting designers, creatives, and entertainment-technology pioneers shaping the future of live experiences.
The 2025 edition took place at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Convention Centre, expanding on the city’s growing role as a regional hub for innovation in entertainment, stage design, and immersive technology. Under the theme “Where Vision Meets Experience,” the event showcased how creative ideas, advanced technology, and human connection are shaping the next era of audience engagement: from interactive installations and multimedia performances to cutting-edge product showcases.
Drone Show as a Live Demonstration of Innovation
At SLS Expo 2025, we didn’t just talk about technology, we showed it in action. On the ground, visitors explored our interactive stand, where we showcased Cyberdrone’s in-house technology, design process, and global portfolio of light shows. But when night fell, our presentation moved from the exhibition floor to the Riyadh sky.
More 600 drones lifted into the air, turning the skyline above Riyadh Front Exhibition & Convention Centre into a dynamic storytelling space. What began as a product demonstration became a full-scale drone performance, a live example of how creativity and engineering work together to create emotion through light.
The show unfolded like a moving exhibition in the sky:
- DJ Booth — symbolizing rhythm, creativity, and human connection. The glowing turntables represented how technology amplifies artistic expression and turns energy into shared emotion.
- Gramophone — a nod to the origins of sound and entertainment. This vintage symbol bridged past and present, showing that every new innovation stands on the legacy of creativity that came before it.
- VR Headset — embodying immersion and the new frontier of experience. As the glowing headset appeared mid-air, it reflected how virtual reality blurs boundaries between audience and story.
- Gaming Consoles — representing play, interactivity, and modern entertainment culture. These figures celebrated the playful spirit behind every technological advance — innovation as something to enjoy, not just observe.
- Roller Coaster — the embodiment of thrill and motion. Its looping track of light symbolized the emotional ups and downs that make live experiences unforgettable.
- Tic-Tac-Toe Game — a moment of simplicity and fun, showing that even the most advanced technologies can bring joy through familiar symbols.
- Expo Logo — closing the story with a tribute to the event itself, merging creativity and collaboration into a single illuminated signature over Riyadh.
Each figure was a metaphor in light. Together, they formed a seamless narrative of imagination and experience, echoing the SLS Expo 2025 theme.
Behind the tech magic and into the sky
For us, SLS Expo 2025 was a unique opportunity to bring both sides of Cyberdrone together: the creative and the technical, the backstage and the spotlight.
At our exhibition stand, we opened the curtain on what usually stays behind the scenes: how our drones are designed, how the software orchestrates every light in sync, and how each show takes shape long before the first takeoff. Visitors could see the complexity, precision, and beauty that go into transforming code and engineering into emotion.
And then, we took that same technology to the sky, turning theory into spectacle. The drone show became the natural extension of what we had shared indoors: proof that innovation is not just built, but performed.
It’s rare to combine both: to explain the process and then let people experience the result in real time. But that’s what made SLS Expo special. A place where inspiration met application, and where every detail—from ground display to aerial choreography—spoke the same language of creativity and technology.
