A Ramadan drone show meets Expo Doha
As part of the official Ramadan program at Expo 2023 Doha, Cyberdrone presented an evening drone show in Al Bidda Park — merging technology, tradition, and environmental storytelling. Set within the framework of a global exhibition dedicated to greener futures, the performance offered visitors a quiet, memorable moment of unity and reflection under the night sky.
Expo 2023 Doha: Greener future, global dialogue
Expo 2023 Doha was the first international horticultural exhibition hosted in Qatar and the MENA region. Held from October 2, 2023, to March 28, 2024, it brought together more than 80 participating countries to explore the theme “Green Desert, Better Environment.”
The event aimed to raise awareness about sustainability, agriculture, and desert greening — and served as a global platform for innovation, education, and cultural exchange. Millions of visitors experienced immersive pavilions, artistic performances, and environmental programs.
Al Bidda Park: Where culture meets nature
Located in the heart of Doha and stretching across 1.7 million square meters, Al Bidda Park served as the central venue for the Expo. With expansive green spaces and views of the Arabian Gulf, it provided an ideal setting for exhibitions, family-friendly events, and large-scale evening shows during the holy month of Ramadan.

A Cyberdrone Tribute to Ramadan, Nature, and National Identity
As part of the Ramadan nights at Expo 2023 Doha, Cyberdrone delivered an aerial performance that blended reverence, beauty, and meaning. Hundreds of synchronized drones lit up the evening sky with glowing symbols—a radiant tree symbolizing growth and resilience, a luminous crescent moon and stars echoing the sacred rhythm of the holy month, and delicate ornamental patterns inspired by Islamic art.
In a symbolic gesture reflecting the Expo’s global spirit and cultural exchange, the show also featured a luminous representation of the Japanese flag—a nod to the next Expo, set to take place in Japan. This moment served as both a tribute and an invitation, highlighting the ongoing dialogue between nations and traditions.
Each formation wasn’t just light — it was language. A quiet, floating tribute to a country rooted in tradition, celebrating Ramadan with grace, and looking ahead with intention. Set against the night and witnessed by families gathered in reflection and joy, the show became a shared pause — a reminder of connection, renewal, and the power of gathering under one sky.

Drone shows: More than light in the sky
There’s something quietly powerful about a crowd looking up at the sky together. No phones for a moment. Just stillness. Curiosity. And then — motion. Shapes forming, dissolving, transforming.
Drone shows aren’t just a trend or a replacement for fireworks. They’re a new language. One that speaks in light and movement. One that doesn’t shout, but invites.
At their core, drone shows are about connection. Between people and ideas. Between technology and emotion. Between the moment and the memory. You can program precision, but you can’t fake awe — and that’s what a well-crafted drone show creates.
This sense of connection becomes even more significant when the performance bridges cultures, like during the Expo Doha show where light linked Qatar and Japan, blending tradition and future aspirations. Such shows reflect how technology can honor heritage while fostering global dialogue.
They leave no smoke, no sound, no waste — just a clean story in the air, told in real time, seen by everyone. And whether it’s a national celebration or a quiet evening during Ramadan, they adapt. They listen to the place, the people, the purpose.
It’s about how you use it to make people feel something — even if just for a few minutes, under an open sky.
